Inspired by the softened light of evening skies, this work explores how light shapes colour.

The title, Evening Muted, refers to the gentle dimming of the sky as day moves toward dusk. In bright light the painting appears strong and vibrant; in lower light it becomes softer and more subdued.

Sand was layered over the original bright colours to create texture, while traces of those underlying tones remain visible, showing earlier stages of the work’s development.
