Sunset Hour

2025

sculpted panel

50x70 cm

Sunset Hour began as a perfectly planned painting: many hours of focus, care, and intention poured into every detail. Then, during shaping, the piece broke. It felt devastating at first… a loss of what it was meant to be.

But continuing to shape it revealed something more honest: the beauty of what remains. The missing section isn’t a flaw, it’s part of the story. This sculpture holds both tension and acceptance: sharp geometry softened by fluid curves, a visible gap that still feels whole. The warm colours echo the moment a day fades: imperfect, transient, and breathtaking all the same.

Sometimes what breaks becomes what makes a piece unforgettable.
